As you well know, the end of the school year is only 4 weeks away. Please make sure that you have an awareness of your present standing in the class. If there are tests you need to make up, do so asap. Also, make sure you turn in ALL assignments from here on out to ensure the most positive end possible to the semester!

Current Event Guidelines for Government
GOVERNMENT CURRENT EVENTS
To demonstrate knowledge of the relevance of Government to current events, and to increase awareness of world events, students will choose a recent article from a newspaper, magazine, or the internet, and write a one paragraph summary of the article written in the student’s own words. The summary must state to which branch of Government the article relates, and why it relates to the particular theme. It must also explain why the article is important to them as an American, why they selected the article, how they felt about the article, and what they found interesting about the article. The article link will be included with the summary.
Students will submit Government current events on www.nicenet.org before class every Friday beginning March 19. (submission should occur prior to class)
The current events will be due on the following dates:
March 19
March 26
April 2
April 16
April 23
April 30
May 7
May 14
The number of points a student earns on the current event will be based on the following criteria:
1. SPELLING/GRAMMAR (5)
2. ARTICLE (10)
3. SUMMARY (35)
Submitting on www.nicenet.org:
Format must be followed! Please provide a link to your article in the post. No link results in an automatic loss of 10 points.

Current events that are not ready on the due date WILL NOT be accepted. If you are absent on the due date, your current event is still expected to be submitted.
